Pandan Rice Krispies Squares

It is almost shameful to post this recipe because you can actually find the recipe to make Rice Krispies squares on the back of every Rice Krispies box. But you know I am shameless. I like easy recipe, add my own twist on it and blatantly post it on this blog.
Today's recipe is no different, it's the simple Rice Krispies squares recipe that everyone seemed to know how to make it with eyes closed, with a bit of Indonesian touch; Pandan flavor.

So, here it is!

Ingredients:
2 fresh pandan leaves, knot it or cut it small
5 cups of vanilla marshmallow
6 cups of Rice Krispies
1/4 cup of salted butter
Rainbow sprinkle for decoration (optional)

Cooking step:

  1. Grease the mold you are going to use for this recipe, I used a rectangular glass bakeware,
  2. Put butter and pandan on a sauce pan on medium heat, let the butter melt,
  3. Continue cooking until the pandan wilt and starts to release its amazing smell,
  4. Take the pandan out,
  5. Add marshmallow and stir until melted and well-blended,
  6. Add rice krispies, fold gently with a spatula until it's all coated,
  7. Spoon the mixture into the mold and press gently to make it firm and even,
  8. Sprinkle the decoration if you use any,
  9. Let cool,
  10. Once it is completely cool, cut with into squares with a knife.

Et voila, your rice krispies is ready!

PS: don't be shy to add more marshmallow and butter if you like your squares to be soft and gooey.
