Gamja Jorim [ Korean Potato Side dish ]

This Korean potato side dish is very easy to cook and it goes well with most of other Asian main dish (or even western!). I even use it to substitute rice on my meal from time to time :)
Ingredients:
4 Potatoes, peeled, cubed and washed
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 Onion, finely chopped
2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
2 ½ Tbs Soy sauce (Japanese Soy sauce)
1 Tbsp sugar (or you can use corn syrup as well)
2 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp Sesame oil
1 Tsp White sesame seed

1. Sauté the potatoes with oil until it starts to be translucent. Keep in medium heat.
2. Once the potato start to be transluscent and soften, add the onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion and garlic becomes fragrant then add soy sauce and sugar. Add the water, 1 tbsp at a time. Stir frequently to prevent sticking.
3. Now its all depends on your taste, if you like your potato a bit mushy, you can cook it longer and add water if you find it too dry. In my case, I just cook until the potato is cooked thoroughly.
4. Serve in a bowl and sprinkle white sesame seeds on top.
