Cinnamon Cake

Quick fix to accompany your tea time!
This cake base is actually very useful, you can add any flavor you like and it will turn out just perfect. In my case, I decided to have a cinnamony treat for my tea time. So here goes the magic behind the scene:

PS: Since its very easy to do the batter, you might want to grease your 9 x 9 inch pan before hand and preheat oven to 350 F (175 C).

Ingredients:

For the cake:
½ cup (125 ml) butter
¾ cup (180 ml) white sugar (you can put 1 cup of sugar if you like your cake as sweet as your smile, but also consider what topping will you put to decorate your cake. Lets have an enjoyable cake instead a diabetic one)
2 Eggs
1 Tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
2 Tsp (5 ml) Cinnamon powder
1½ cups (375 ml) all purpose flour
3 tsp  (430 ml) baking powder
½ cup (125 ml) milk

1. In medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time then stir in the vanilla and the cinnamon. Mix in the flour and baking powder. Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter into the greased pan.

2. Bake 30 to 40 minutes.

For the glazing:
1 ½ cup (375 ml) of confectioners sugar
2 ½ Tbsp (37 ml) of milk (or simply just add as much milk as you need to get the consistency you are looking for)
¼ Tsp vanilla extract
1 Tsp (5ml) cinnamon powder
1 Tsp (5 ml) melted butter
3 Tbsp (45 ml) colorful cake sprinkles decoration

Now, all you got to do is mix all the ingredients together until it form a creamy mixture. Spread on your cake and sprinkle the cake decoration.

See, I told you its so easy and simple!

Happy cooking!

  1. I like the soft texture of this cake, also the cinnamon flavor that melts down in my mouth on my first swallow. I am really satisfied with the result! As easy as it was said!
