Indian Chick Peas Salad with Mango Powder (Chana chaat)
There are two things I like to do the most in life and those are eating and make friends, and what happen when I combine both at the same time? Its guaranteed there will be unforgetable moments with lots of laughs and good food. and I consider myself very lucky being surrounded by awesome people from different cultural background. Once in awhile, we have dinner together and bring our best dish to share.
One day, a friend of mine brought this lovely chickpeas salad. Honestly, I have never eaten chickpeas before and its actually tastes pretty good. I like it!... Like any other salad, this salad is healthy and easy to prepare. The only down side from this salad is that the chickpeas make me gassy.. hahhahaha.. Poor people around me!
Ingredients:
1 can of chickpeas (you can also use the dried one, but it takes time to soak in water)
2 tomatoes, diced (I used Italian tomato which has more meat)
1 cup cucumber, diced
½ small red onion, finely chopped
1 hot pepper, seeded and diced (I used Jalapeno pepper)
1 cup bell pepper, seeded and diced (I used orange and red bell pepper for a cheerful color)
4 tsp olive oil
4 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp cayenne pepper powder
2 tsp dried mango powder (amchoor)
salt
Cooking steps:
1. In a big mixing bowl with lid, combine all ingredients together, mix gently to make sure everything is well incorporated,
2. Put the lid on and keep the salad for an hour or two before serving.
3. Your chickpeas salad is ready to serve.

PS: Its better to prepare the salad a night before so the onion tone down and you can taste the rest of the ingredients better.
